Available Services - Counseling
Counseling services are provided for children, adolescents and their families. These services are primarily provided in the school setting, but may be arranged in the home. - Crisis Stabilization
Crisis Stabilization is provided in an acute care hospital when in-patient services becomes necessary. This short-term service is used when a child is at immediate risk and previous attempts to resolve a crisis have been unsuccessful. - Psychiatry
Psychiatry services are provided to evaluate the need for prescription medications used for psychiatric disorders. These services also include medication management and monitoring. - Intensive In-Home Intervention
Intensive in-home services are designed to assist families in crisis when the child becomes at risk of out-of-home placement. Services are primarily delivered in the family's home and concentrate on problem resolution and skill acquisition. - Respite
Respite is a service designed to offer relief for families who are experiencing crisis or times of high stress. An alternative short-term residence is provided for a child, or you, to allow an opportunity for the resolution of a crisis.
All services are based on the individual's needs and choices, and are structured to help the person manage their illness, encouraging independent and productive lives. In what areas are these services available? Services are available to anyone living within our 5-county service area (Cochran, Hockley, Lubbock, Lynn, Crosby) who meets eligibility guidelines for receiving mental health services through the Department of State Health Services system. Services are available without discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex or disability. How are these services paid for? Lubbock Regional MHMR Center accepts CHIP, Medicaid, and most forms of private health insurance. For persons who are not eligible for health coverage, fees are assessed on the basis of proof of the individual's (or in some cases the family's) complete income, with no one denied services due to an inability to pay.
