| March 10, 2007 Sunrise Canyon Hospital, a service of Lubbock Regional MHMR, earned accreditation by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations for up to three years. By meeting the national standards for health care quality and safety, Sunrise Canyon Hospital earned the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™. According to Danette Castle, Chief Executive Officer of Lubbock Regional MHMR Center, “The accreditation demonstrates our continued commitment to providing safe, high quality care.” Mary Gerlach, Sunrise Canyon Hospital Administrator says, “We view obtaining Joint Commission accreditation as another step toward achieving excellence in patient care.” Since 1951, The Joint Commission has maintained state-of-the-art, performance-based standards and evaluated the quality and safety of care by assessing the compliance of health care organizations with these national standards. The Joint Commission is the oldest and largest health care accrediting body.
