STAR Award

Annual Staff/Volunteer/Community Recognition Event

Thursday, June 18, 2009

The Star Award was presented in acknowledgment of an individual or organization in the community for actively supporting the mission of the Lubbock Regional Mental Health Mental Retardation Center. Recipients of this award are “shining star” examples of volunteers making a huge difference in the lives of people served by the Center.

The 3rd Star Award recipient was City Bank. Since opening its first bank in 1941 in Morton, Texas, City Bank has been committed to serving people. Originally focused on agriculture, the bank has expanded to serve the border community of El Paso, a cosmopolitan customer base in Plano, the growing suburbs east of Dallas and the growing Asian community in Texas, especially in Houston. However, it should come as no surprise that no matter what community they are in, City Bank is dedicated to service.

Lubbock Regional MHMR Center was very fortunate to win $10,000 from City Bank last December in its online Community Rewards Contest. We were not the only winner – City Bank gave away six $10,000 awards! They truly live up to their mission, which is to build long lasting relationships by delivering extraordinary financial solutions through unrivaled customer service….one customer at a time. Thank you, City Bank for being a STAR!
