Purpose: To recognize those staff members who make special efforts to provide support and resources to individuals who receive services, enabling them to exercise their human rights and become actively involved members of the community.

Nominating Criteria

The staff member has:

• Gone beyond the scope of their job responsibilities to support consumers to exercise their rights;
• Changed community perception of people with a disability;
• Educated family members and other support systems so they can assist the consumer in exercising his or her rights; and/or
• Accessed resources that are intended to support the rights of individuals with disabilities.

Recognition

The nominee chosen by the Human Rights Committee is recognized at a meeting of the
Board of Trustees during the quarter.
