| The Advocate of the third quarter of fiscal year 2006 is Rhonda Trent.  Advocating for people with disabilities does not necessarily mean that you’re involved in major activities. More often it means that you are treating people with dignity and respect on a day-to-day basis.
Making sure that a person who comes to the Center for support feels supported and safe; showing kindness and empathy during a crisis involving a family member; and listening with an open mind and caring heart are the trademarks of a true advocate. Rhonda exemplifies those trademarks and practices them in all of her encounters with consumers, family members and the community. She is a true advocate in every sense of the word. |
